CPAP ResMed
ResMed Corp. offers a full line of CPAP ResMed equipment, including masks, machines, humidifiers, portable screening and diagnotic devices and data management tools for sleep experts.
Then there are CPAP ResMed accessories such as headgear, chin restraints and tubing, as well as replacement parts.
ResMed's top-of-the-line device is the s9 series sleep therapy system, which employs the latest technology to reduce noise and to make breathing more comfortable.
In addition, the compact size of the machines allow them to sit at our bedside much as a clock radio would. And the device has a color LCD screen and intuitive controls that make using the machine a breeze.
The s9 machines offer a feature that ResMed calls expiratory pressure relief, which adds to breathing comfort. The device detects when the sleeper starts an exhale and cuts back the S9's motor speed to reduce pressure. The motor then returns to regular speed when the user starting inhaling.
s9 series machines also have a climate control system, which includes ResMed's ClimateLine heated tube for patient comfort. The system helps to prevent "rainout," which happens when condensation forms in the breathing tube with the change of temperature.
The ClimateLine and the SlimLine tubing, which is also offered with the S9s, are slimmer, and sleeker so the sleeper won't feel anchored to the bed by a heavy breathing tube. These tubes allow the sleeper to move more in bed without having to worry about dislodging the mask.
ResMed's Easy-Breathe Motor is also part of the S9 features. The motor cuts radiated and conducted noise to whisper levels, to the benefit of both the user and that person's bed partner.
Onboard data storage comes with the S9 machines. That means the s9s keep a detailed record of the user's CPAP therapy for up to a year, including pressures, hours and days used and leakage information. It can provide detailed graphic info for the doctors overseeing the treatments.
The s9 Autoset and the S9 Elite have the ability to detect both central sleep apnea, which involves the brainstem functions, and obstructive sleep apnea, which is caused by an obstruction of air flow. And the device, having detected the type of sleep apnea, can compensate for them.
Aside from CPAP machine, ResMed Corp. has a lineup of humidifiers that can be connected to CPAP machines to help with dryness and congestion.
The top of the line H5i automatically integrates with the S9 once it's connected. The H5i comes with a standard one-piece tube that's made to be replaced twice a year. The humidifier also is available with a cleanable tube that can be easily disassembled for cleaning.
The H4i humidifier can be connected easily with the S8, a CPAP ResMed machine, and fully supports the S8 platform.
The HumidAire 3i can connect seamlessly with the S8's programming, too, and the HumidAire 2i is compatible the ResMed's S7 device.
Among the CPAP ResMed accessories available is a chin restraint for sleepers who are losing air pressure during CPAP therapy through the mouth. The chin restraint keeps the mouth closed.
Also available is the Gecko nasal pad, a strip that goes over the bridge of the nose to help with mask sealing and skin sensitivity.And there are soft wraps for the Swift FX that cover the support arms on the mask to alleviate skin irritation.
