Swift FX
The Swift FX nasal pillows, typically priced at about $130, are not only one of the most popular ResMed masks, they are also one of the most well-liked CPAP nasal pillows throughout the industry.
What’s to like? A lot, users say. The design allows for sleeping on your back or on either side with no disruptions to the treatment. The tube to the CPAP -- continuous positive airway pressure -- machine can be swiveled and positioned as desired.
Although sleepers have personal preferences when it comes to CPAP masks, the nasal pillows typically work well with users who breathe through their nose while they sleep, which a majority of people do.
Users report sometimes forgetting they even have the ResMed Swift FX on because it has little contact with the face, it’s lightweight, and it allows for an unobstructed field of vision. Soft wraps are optional for the headgear to further improve comfort. The mask eases the feeling that those receiving the CPAP treatment are losing some of their freedom.
That’s not to say the Swift FX isn’t snugly fitted to the user. The mask’s headgear straps do a fantastic job of helping to maintain that all-important seal, users say. The soft silicone of the headgear embraces the head with a gentle touch, and it usually requires little adjustment. At the same time, a back strap that circles behind the head is made of Velcro, which makes for easy tweaks in fitting.
And the nasal pillows themselves make use of ResMed cushion technology to ensure comfort. The pillows, which fit against the nostrils, are designed with dual walls that seal gently on contact. The pillows are so flexible that they have what ResMed calls “trampoline action,” allowing for movement during sleep. The pillows have the feeling of a natural fit, many people report.
One user told an online forum that he brought an older ResMed mask on vacation one time. It was a mistake. He couldn’t wait to get home so he could slip on the Swift FX again.
It’s not just a favorite among users, but among bed mates, too.
With its cutting-edge vent design, the mask gently and quietly disperses air in such a way that doesn’t disturb either users or their partner.

With studies showing that the risk of sleep apnea in women after menopause is equal to men, ResMed also offers a version of the nasal pillow designed specifically for women, called Swift FX For Her. Among other things, ResMed's For Her model offers the ability of the user to customize her mask through pink, blue or gray headstraps and soft-wrap colors. While the soft wraps reduce creases on the skin, the headgear’s special material keeps moisture off the skin and increases comfort.
